I’m writing this blog by the skin of my teeth tonight. It’s late. I’m tired. But I’m committed.

Commitment has been something that I’ve been noticing in the last three weeks. Either I’m finding people aren’t committed or I’m finding people are committed at the expense of themselves.

Making a commitment is not something the universe, I believe, takes lightly. Once we decide to propel ourselves towards the direction of our pursuits, we are challenged, tested and knocked. It’s almost like the universe is just checking, jjuuuussstttt checking, that we’re serious, really serious, about the path towards our dream.

If we waiver, which us humans have a tendency to do, it’s ok. We have to be forgiven for that. But if we consistently say no to the opportunities that come across our path, even though the going sometimes gets tough, then the universe won’t take us as seriously anymore and it will stop presenting us with doors to knock on.

None of us can vow to be perfect. But we can vow to give it a red hot go.

On the other hand, those who are giving it a red hot go at the expense of everything else may find themselves in burn out, shut down or, dare I say it, divorce (literally or figuratively).

It’s really important to maintain your integrity around your commitment but it’s also important to maintain your integrity around everything else, including relationships and responsibilities.

You’ll know when you’re facing burn out when your body kicks your butt with illness, or your friends/lover/partner/customers start kicking your butt with one complaint or another. At this point you have to decide, is it them or my vision?

You can have both. Just be smart about it. Again, it’s about balance.

With love
