Phew. It’s been a busy week. I don’t rate busy. In fact, I don’t believe in it. But I’ve had to dance with it a bit this last week, believing it necessary to get ‘all jobs done’ before I board a plane to Bali tomorrow. (In fact, once you receive this, I’ll be on my way… that is not to gloat!)

It’s been interesting being busy. It had taken me back to a time in good old corporate days when I was very busy and important in my role. (Huh!)

You know, it never was the corporate building that caged me. It was my mind.

With all its fears and conditioning and nuances. It kept me housed in a perpetual state of guilt, shame and permission seeking.

And one thing I always forgot – or was it that I never really knew – in those times during my old working life, was my why. Why on earth was I was pushing myself, stuffing this round peg into a clearly square hole?

Whatever the reason or lack thereof, I woke up to it, or rather, separated myself from it.

The difference of being busy now is that I can always remind myself of just why I’m doing this. And the answer is simple. I want to help people and make a small modicum of difference.

So, in the lead up to my trip I have been working frantically to get other ‘stuff’ organised so I can focus on perfecting my upcoming course whilst I’m away. A course, which I hope, is part of my little contribution to the world.

Annnnnd enjoy the little things, like waking up to rice fields and roosters crowing in the morning. Like eating raw and Indonesian food til my heart’s content. Like taking in the wonder and creativity of the talent being showcased at the Ubud Writers Festival.

Like being still.

I may write whilst I am away. I may not. (Not to worry – there’ll still be updates from me. I’m still committed to getting you goodies.)

I think, for now, it’s important to take stock and remind ourselves – just why are we doing what we’re doing?

Why are you doing what you’re doing?

If you don’t like the answer. Perhaps it’s time to change it?

With love
